THE KEEPER CHAPTER 3

 Chapter 3

Motola ran towards Chris’ side as they both laid flat on the ground.

One of the criminals took position by the front door, while the other hovered over them; cocking his gun at their heads. The third who appeared to be the leader of the group, sat majestically on the sofa.

“Raise up your heads” he thundered

“Please don’t let us do that” Chris replied from the floor “Just take whatever you want and leave us in peace”

“Yes please” Motola said fearfully

The leader laughed loudly and repeated his request.

Motola and Chris quickly raised their heads towards him but kept their eyes closed

“Now sit on the floor and open your eyes” he shouted

They obeyed him trembling

“Good. I see you were having dinner; your anniversary dinner I presume?”

Motola and Chris exchanged a surprised look.

“You’re surprised I’m informed?” he asked smiling “Don’t be. You very well know who I am. Today is the day of reckoning, and I am here to exact my last revenge on you Christopher Emeka Okafor”

Chris blinked in surprise as the leader went on.

“Little by little, without your knowledge, I have made you pay for the evil act you committed years back; but today, I am here to deliver the final blow”

Motola and Chris looked away as he removed his mask

“Good evening sir” said a familiar voice

The couple turned to look into the eyes of the criminal kingpin and gasped in shock.

"I HEART YOU" : local or endearing?

Let me start by stating that I mean no disrespect to anyone but I have to ask, what is with this common phrase "I heart you?" Is it because of the general miconception that love exists in our hearts? Or because society has tagged the heart as the birth, growth and resting place of love? What about the other school of thought that believes love exists in our brain? After all, memories of your beloved is stored in your brain, so please where does the "I heart you" phrase come to play? Many will argue with me and say that the racing of our hearts when our beloved is closeby, justifys the phrase. If that is so, then I guess those who subscribe to the belief of butterflies in our tummy should be allowed to coin theirs? How will you react if someone says "I stomach you?" I don't know about you, but thoughts of little Red Riding Hood swallowed by the wolf will be my impression plus an obvious look of surprise followed immediately by horror. That is if I d...

THE POPULAR SUBJECT OF DEBATES: Why Do Black Men Date White Women; Love or Insecurity?

Why do Black men date White women?   As a Nigerian female based overseas, I am asked this question all the time. Debates, arguments and hostile discussions have risen, but no one has really answered the question or enlightened society as to why this happens. Thankfully, it seems like some people have decided to come forward to finally put this quest to rest. I came across this article on Facebook written to a magazine called Sister 2 Sister by a Caucasian woman who wanted to air her views and have her questions answered. Hopefully it answers all your questions. Enjoy . PS: This post is not intended to hurt or offend any race or gender. It is also not written as a racial snide or for the purpose of racism. Please note that it was copied directly from a post on Facebook to set the record straight. Read with an open mind, thanks.   [It seems that an article was written to Sister 2 Sister magazine by a Caucasian woman...

Hello everyone, my apologies for the long absence πŸ™ I have been preoccupied with studies for my Master's degree program πŸŽ“ as well as other personal issues. During this time, I have been working on a pet project πŸ˜‚ πŸ’ƒ I hope to have it published as a novel when I am done. Before that happens, enjoy this long except from the story πŸ˜‚πŸ˜˜πŸ˜‰ "Thank you" said Lara when they were alone. "Don't mention it" he replied quietly. "I need to go, but I'll be back soon. I'll tell Zara to -" "Please don't tell her." Lara interrupted sitting up quickly. Malik frowned looking confused. "Why?" He asked I don't want her to worry about something so trivial." She replied "Too late. I already sent her a text, and I'm sure she's on her way here" he replied checking his phone. "Great!! She's probably panicking" Lara said standing up. She went to the window to look out, the sun was very bright. She h...
